The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiles throws a chopping leg kick but Philippou manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Philippou throws a nice looking combination but Hiles bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Hiles has taken the fight to the clinch.
Philippou is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hiles pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Philippou has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hiles is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hiles lands an elbow that stopped Philippou in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Constantinos Philippou has been cut.
Hiles stalls.

Hiles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Philippou throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hiles counters with a low kick, right behind Philippou 's knee.

Hiles is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Hiles defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Philippou.

Philippou moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hiles has worked his arm free - good work by Hiles!

Philippou is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hiles is trying to escape and Philippou transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hiles is forced to tap! Nice work there by Philippou! Very nice indeed!
