Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Koichi Kamei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Koichi Kamei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Jones!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamei misses with a double jab.
Kamei is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
That kick from Kamei tenderised Jones's leg. Jones is trying to keep his angry face on.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jones won't allow Kamei to sweep him here.

Jones wants to control from the top but Kamei keeps moving.

Kamei swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kamei as he jumps to the side.

Kamei is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kamei avoids the body shot from Jones.
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kamei.

Jones moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
Jones displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kamei throws out the jab.
A left and a right from Kamei both land. Nice combination.
Kamei throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.
Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kamei finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head.
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Kamei.
Kamei moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Kamei scores with a nice body kick.
Jones takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kamei lands with an overhand left.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kamei.
Jones walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Jones throws the left hand but Kamei avoids the punch easily.

Kamei tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kamei doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Kamei is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kamei utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Michael Jones hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Kamei counters with a low kick, right behind Jones 's knee.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kamei moves away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kamei enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kamei manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kamei wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Michael Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kamei fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jones on the side of the head.
Kamei connects with a leg kick. Jones looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Kamei defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.
Koichi Kamei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Jones.

Jones can't escape the position.
Kamei throwing strikes but Jones bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Kamei has wrist control.
Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Kamei's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kamei lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.

Jones shoots in for a double leg but Kamei sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kamei's guard.

Kamei wants to control the position but Jones says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Michael Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
