The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nilski throws a nice looking combination but Abdalla bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nilski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nilski swats away the attempt to clinch by Abdalla.

Abdalla has managed to clinch.
Abdalla fails to pull guard.
Nilski looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Abdalla swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Abdalla is trying to pull guard but Nilski has him pressed against the cage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Abdalla pulls Nilski in close to prevent any damage.

Abdalla is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nilski has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Nilski wants to stand but Abdalla has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Abdalla might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nilski wants to stand and escape but instead Abdalla has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Abdalla passes into half guard.

Nilski tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Abdalla manages to move to mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
