Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damien Duval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Damien Duval!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duval tries for a takedown but Gunn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gunn tries a head kick but it misses.
Gunn lands a nice shot to the body.
Gunn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Duval fails with the takedown.
Gunn shoots in looking for a takedown. Duval tries to sprawl out of it but Gunn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Duval manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Duval shoots in for a takedown but Gunn shows good takedown defense.

Duval tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Duval changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gunn tries to avoid it but Duval manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gunn to the ground. Gunn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Duval drives through and clinches with Gunn against the cage.
Duval's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Duval pushes Gunn away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gunn gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Gunn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Duval sprawls well. Duval wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gunn gets slowly back to his feet.

A close round but Tommy Gunn will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Duval is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gunn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gunn has escaped and now he's on top!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tommy Gunn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
