Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herman Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Herman Willis!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer closes the distance and clinches up with Willis, looking for a takedown. Archer pushes Willis against the cage but Willis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Willis throws a series of punches but Archer moves out of range.
Archer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Archer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Willis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Archer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Willis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Archer throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Willis throws a left and a right that both miss
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Willis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No joy there for Willis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Willis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Archer counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Willis is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Archer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Archer.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyler Archer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Willis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Archer.

Archer dives in and grabs Willis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Willis pushes down on Archer's head and hops out.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Archer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Willis throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Archer looks up at the clock and then as Willis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Archer smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Willis manages to get back to half guard.
Willis throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Archer tries to pass the half guard into mount. Willis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Willis throws a series of punches but Archer moves out of range.

Archer rushes Willis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Willis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Archer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Archer cracks Willis with a big right hand but Willis just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Archer wants to control from the top but Willis keeps moving.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Archer is really struggling to control Willis but he's trying to hold on to the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Tyler Archer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Archer looking to sit in guard and control but Willis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Willis wants to stand but Archer is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Willis gets to his feet - Archer follows without any prompting.
A looping hook to the body misses from Archer. Willis does a little dance to reset his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Archer gets control of Willis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Archer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Herman Willis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tyler Archer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
