Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.
Smith scores with a push kick.
Thashi tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Thashi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Smith has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Smith and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Thashi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smith counters with a low kick, right behind Thashi 's knee.
Smith rushes Thashi and presses him up against the cage.
Smith tries a body shot but Thashi blocks it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Smith creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Thashi manages to break the clinch.
Smith takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Smith has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Thashi.
Thashi slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Smith lands a jab to Thashi's midsection.
Smith connects with a body shot that sends Thashi's belly button to the back.
Thashi fails in his attempt to clinch.

Good exchange - Smith coming out on top.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith scores with a hook to the body. Thashi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Thashi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Smith connects with a body shot that sends Thashi's belly button to the back.
Thashi moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.

Smith is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Thashi rather than just go for the knockout.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Oh Thashi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
