Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed - Warrior. Dennis Washington will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dennis Washington!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Washington does no damage.
Connor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Washington lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Washington.


It looks like John Connor has been cut.
A punch combination from Washington misses.
Good standup being displayed there by Washington as he connects with a hook.
Connor tries to close the distance and clinch but Washington swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Washington throws a series of punches but Connor avoids them all with ease.
Washington swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Connor.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Washington tries to circle away but Connor has him pinned against the cage.
Washington has had enough of the clinch but Connor keeps him there for the moment.
Washington is trying to push Connor away but Connor has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Washington can't break the clinch.
Connor has Washington pressed against the cage, preventing Washington from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Connor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Connor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Washington has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Connor is proving hard to escape from.
Washington must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Washington tries to free his leg and advance position but Connor is retaining full guard.

Connor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Washington doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Washington manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Washington throws a strike but Connor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Washington looking to hit a scissor sweep but Connor is one step ahead there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Washington has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Connor has passed into side control.
Washington is looking for a sweep.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Connor controls the position.
Washington wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Washington tries to improve position but can't.
Washington really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Connor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connor just content to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Washington pushes Connor away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Connor gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Washington is looking for a sweep.
Connor controls the position.
Connor lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Washington is trying to work for a sweep but Connor has mounted him!
Connor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Connor throws some wild stikes that Washington manages to avoid easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Connor controlling the pace for now.
Washington is trying to reverse the position but instead Connor has taken his back - oops!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dennis Washington dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Connor's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Washington stuffs the takedown attempt from Connor. Connor gets slowly back to his feet.
Connor shoots in looking for a takedown but Washington manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Connor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Washington looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Washington misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Connor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Washington tries to avoid it but Connor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Washington to the ground. Washington escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Connor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Washington thows a body shot but no joy.

Washington leaves Connor with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Washington lands a jab.
Washington stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Washington wants it to stay on the feet.
Washington connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Connor momentarily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Washington scores with the left hand. Connor knows he should have avoided that one.

Dennis Washington seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Washington lands with a good body shot.
Connor shoots in and drives through. Washington sprawls well.
Dennis Washington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Washington drops Connor with a beautiful combination! Connor stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Washington is looking for the KO!

Washington swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oh Connor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Connor tries to clinch up.
Washington closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Connor! Washington dives in looking to finish! Connor is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dennis Washington!
