PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frederich Frankenstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darth Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frederich Frankenstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darth Vader!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frankenstein scores a takedown into full mount!
Vader is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Frankenstein takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Frankenstein has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vader's face.


Vader is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vader squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Frankenstein controlling from mount.
Vader wants to try and get back to his feet.
Frankenstein looking to control and managing it successfully.
Frankenstein is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Vader can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Frankenstein get's back to his feet.
Frankenstein shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vader defends it nicely.
Frankenstein pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Frankenstein feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Vader sprawling to the canvas! Vader rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Frankenstein finish him?!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Vader gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Frankenstein to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Vader is still in real trouble! Can Frankenstein finish him?
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Frankenstein accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frankenstein won't allow Vader to get back to his feet.
Vader seems to have recovered his senses.
Frankenstein trying to control but Vader is working from the bottom.
Frankenstein controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Frederich Frankenstein has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Frankenstein dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Frankenstein dives in and grabs Vader's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vader pushes down on Frankenstein's head and hops out.
Frankenstein tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vader sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Frankenstein somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frederich Frankenstein. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A left lands for Frankenstein.
Frankenstein is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Frederich Frankenstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Frankenstein wants to clinch.
Vader is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Frankenstein.
Vader swats away the attempt to clinch by Frankenstein.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vader avoids the body shot from Frankenstein.
Darth Vader is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Vader gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Frankenstein controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Frankenstein trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vader working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Frankenstein.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vader is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Frankenstein is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Frankenstein stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vader swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frederich Frankenstein dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Frankenstein drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Vader wants to stand and escape but Frankenstein is having none of it.
Frankenstein controls from within his opponent's guard.
Frankenstein throwing strikes but missing.
Vader keeping full guard, as Frankenstein tries to pass.
Vader wants to stand up but Frankenstein is controlling him.

Frankenstein is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vader can do to turn this around?

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Frankenstein gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Frankenstein wants to clinch.
Frankenstein goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Frederich Frankenstein is winning the standup battle so far.
Vader avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Frankenstein shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Frankenstein was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Frankenstein postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Vader looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frankenstein postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Vader out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Frankenstein goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Frederich Frankenstein!
Frederich Frankenstein decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
