Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Blackshear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshimitsu Lariato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshimitsu Lariato is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Blackshear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshimitsu Lariato!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lariato throws the left hand but Blackshear avoids the punch easily.

Blackshear looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Blackshear tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lariato knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lariato is trying to get back to full guard.
Lariato tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Blackshear has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Blackshear controlling the position easily from mount.

Blackshear looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Lariato is desperately trying to improve his position but Blackshear has a good base and remains in mount.
A nice elbow there by Blackshear.
Blackshear will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lariato takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BOOM! Blackshear connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blackshear gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Blackshear just content to control the position.

Blackshear has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Blackshear tries for a kimura but Lariato is defending well.
Lariato is trying to control Blackshear's posture but Blackshear avoids it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Blackshear gets the takedown into side control.
Blackshear lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lariato down.

Blackshear really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Blackshear slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Blackshear is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Blackshear looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lariato with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lariato won't allow Blackshear to pass to mount.
Blackshear seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lariato is looking for a sweep. Blackshear is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Blackshear is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lariato can do to turn this around?

Blackshear stands up and beckons Lariato to his feet.

Blackshear instigates a clinch.
Lariato is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Blackshear pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lariato is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Blackshear ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blackshear no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blackshear is pulling down on Lariato's head to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Blackshear closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lariato takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Still in half guard, Blackshear seems content to control.
Lariato flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Blackshear works his foot free and advances to mount.
Blackshear takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Blackshear fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Blackshear in particular looking to stall.
Blackshear takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Blackshear is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Blackshear is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lariato sees it coming and defends easily.
Lariato is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Blackshear scores with a couple of nice shots.
Lariato wants to get back to full guard.

Blackshear is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lariato has managed to free his arm - good work.
Blackshear has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Blackshear is taking a breather. Lariato says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Blackshear seems to be working for a kimura but Lariato defends the submission attempt.

Blackshear is trying for a kimura here. Lariato looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Blackshear wins by kimura!
