PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sephiroth Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sephiroth Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harry Jack!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack tries to clinch but Cooper is having none of it.
Jack throws a leg kick but Cooper checks it.
Cooper checks a leg kick.
Jack misses with a head kick.

Jack gets caught flat footed, as Cooper shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cooper sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooper wants to control from the top but Jack keeps moving.

Cooper avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cooper looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Jack is looking to control Cooper's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jack avoid being mounted?
Jack tries to get to full guard but Cooper has control of the leg.
Jack tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Cooper has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Jack wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cooper.

Cooper looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Cooper is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jack can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cooper lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jack can't escape the position.
Jack is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Cooper with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jack is squirming around, avoiding Cooper's attempts to control the action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jack can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cooper is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Cooper!
