Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karrel Dlute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karrel Dlute is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Shields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karrel Dlute!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dlute shoots in and bounces Shields off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dlute wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving.
Shields manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dlute sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Dlute is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Shields is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dlute doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shields.

Shields is trying to work for a kimura but Dlute is defending well.
Dlute controlling the position for now.

Dlute moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Dlute is adopting a defensive guard.
Let's hope that Dlute has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Dlute pulls Shields in close to prevent any damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Dlute is landing with some decent strikes but Shields is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Shields tries to reverse the position but Dlute maintains control.
Dlute postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shields looks a forlorn figure.

It looks like Nick Shields has been cut.
Shields is bucking up trying to escape but Dlute cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Shields is rocked!
Dlute connects with a bit shot that sees Shields covering up! More strikes from Dlute and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Dlute is our winner by TKO!
