Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Georges StPierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Emperor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Georges StPierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alan Emperor!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
StPierre takes a shot right to the bread basket.
StPierre is breathing heavily.

Emperor instigates a clinch.
Emperor gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from StPierre.

Emperor breaks from the clinch.
Emperor blocks a leg kick.

Emperor has closed the distance and engaged StPierre in a clinch.
StPierre is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Emperor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Emperor rushes StPierre and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Emperor breaks from the clinch.

StPierre tries to sprawl but Emperor drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Emperor thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Emperor missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

It looks like Emperor might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Emperor connects with a nice short shot to StPierre's temple.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alan Emperor.
Emperor is trying hard to land a takedown here. StPierre sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Alan Emperor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Emperor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Emperor wants to free his trapped foot but StPierre is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Emperor performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Let's hope that Emperor has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alan Emperor hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Emperor looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for StPierre!

StPierre tries to hold on but Emperor postures up.
StPierre tries to reverse the position but Emperor maintains control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Emperor looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Emperor controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Emperor's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Emperor duly obliges.


It looks like Georges StPierre has been cut.

Emperor clinches.

StPierre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Emperor moves into the clinch successfully.
Emperor tries to pull guard but StPierre holds him up against the cage and eventually Emperor drops back down to his feet.
Emperor is pressed up against the cage. StPierre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Emperor down to the mat. Emperor avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Emperor closes the distance and clinches.

Emperor tightens his grip and picks StPierre up, before dumping him to the ground. StPierre manages to land in guard.
Alan Emperor has got the better of the ground game so far.

Emperor decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on StPierre, up you get!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Emperor chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Emperor goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Emperor scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. StPierre doesn't seem bothered though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Emperor is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Emperor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Emperor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Emperor isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. StPierre stacks Emperor on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by StPierre!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Emperor is trying to control StPierre's posture but StPierre avoids it.

Emperor manages to get back to half guard.
StPierre trying to control the action but Emperor is working from the bottom.
Emperor looks like he's trying to stand up.
Emperor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with StPierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
StPierre prevents Emperor from improving his position.

Emperor is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Emperor wants to control but StPierre is keeping busy.
StPierre trying to mount his opponent but Emperor defends it.
Emperor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Emperor tries to roll over but StPierre keeps him under control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by StPierre or perhaps it was just good defense by Emperor which made him look bad.

Emperor shoots in and gets a takedown into StPierre's guard.
StPierre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Emperor postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Emperor stands up from StPierre's guard - Emperor perhaps looking for a knockout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Emperor dives in and scores a takedown into StPierre's guard.

Alan Emperor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


StPierre blocks a head kick by Emperor.

Emperor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. StPierre sprawls well initially but Emperor persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Emperor is pressing down on StPierre's thigh, looking to free his foot. StPierre is holding on for now.
Emperor tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
StPierre tries to roll over but Emperor keeps him under control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Emperor decides to return to a standing position.

Emperor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. StPierre was covering up waiting for the punch and Emperor finishes the takedown easily into guard.
StPierre wants to stand up but Emperor is controlling him.

Emperor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Emperor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

StPierre looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
StPierre is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

StPierre is working an open guard so Emperor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Emperor moves into the clinch.
StPierre tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Emperor just stands there and leans against the cage.

Emperor jumps guard and drags StPierre to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
StPierre pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Emperor is keeping the position for now.
Emperor keeping moving, preventing StPierre from controlling successfully.
Emperor pulls StPierre in close to prevent any damage.

Emperor uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Emperor scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Emperor decides to take the fight back to the feet.
No luck for Emperor with that takedown attempt.

Emperor scores a takedown into full mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Emperor tries to push StPierre's head away but StPierre is holding on tight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
StPierre tries to hold on but Emperor pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alan Emperor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Emperor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
