PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and All I Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). All I Do told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, The Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, All I Do!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from I Do.
A punch combination from Beast misses.
I Do throws an off balance right hand
and Beast counters with a head kick. That will keep I Do thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Beast shoots in and drives through. I Do sprawls well.
Beast wants to clinch but I Do slips to the side

and I Do counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Beast's guard now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Beast looking for submissions from the bottom but instead I Do passes into half guard.
Beast wants to control but I Do is keeping busy and won't allow it.
I Do slips a nice elbow through Beast's hands, connecting with Beast's forehead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I Do is trying to work for a kimura but Beast is defending well.
I Do with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beast blocking the ground and pound attempt from I Do.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I Do drops an elbow to the side of Beast's head.

I Do is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Beast keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Beast wants to control but I Do passes into side.
I Do connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Beast some visible discomfort.
I Do postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

I Do stands up and we're back to a striking position.
I Do tests Beast's chin there with a solid looking shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
I Do scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Beast really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

I Do closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - I Do lands in his opponent's guard.
Beast looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
I Do throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Beast utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
I Do throws a big elbow that misses.
I Do with a flurry of punches that miss.
I Do looking to sit in guard and control but Beast gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
I Do throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
I Do postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

All I Do dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


The fighters circling - I Do throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
I Do shoots in looking for a takedown but Beast manages to keep the fight standing, pushing I Do's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
I Do looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
I Do keeps the fight on the outside.
I Do lands a really nice looking cross but Beast seems unphased.
I Do swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Beast keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Beast misses with a wild body shot.
Beast attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Beast is trying hard to land a takedown here. I Do sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

I Do fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Beast on the side of the head.
Beast shoots in for a takedown but I Do shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Beast. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

I Do closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Beast knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for I Do on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Beast's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Check out the look on I Do's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
I Do creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Beast sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
I Do takes a little break here. Beast wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

I Do thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
I Do slows the pace down.

The strikes coming from I Do are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
I Do has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

All I Do showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Beast throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Beast counters with a big head kick but I Do shrugs it off.

I Do is looking to clinch but Beast is avoiding it.

I Do throws a hook to the side of Beast's head but Beast sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
I Do throws a one two combo.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
I Do throws an overhand right that lands on Beast's shoulder, as Beast tries to avoid the shot.
Beast fails with an attempt to clinch.
Beast avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
I Do slaps away a takedown attempt from Beast, before circling back to the center of the mat.
I Do loads up on a big right hand but Beast slips the punch.

I Do will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

I Do clobbers Beast with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Beast wants to control the position but I Do says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
I Do is figuring out what he wants to do next.
All I Do is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
I Do lands strikes from half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

All I Do comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well I Do has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
