Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wolf Mastadon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wolf Mastadon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wolf Mastadon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Drago! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Mastadon. Drago does a little dance to reset his feet. Mastadon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Drago moves away. Drago uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mastadon.

Mastadon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Drago napping and manages to drive through into side control! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Mastadon sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Drago is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Drago seems a little lost for a moment, as Mastadon dominates the positioning. Mastadon tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Mastadon controls the position from side control. Mastadon connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Drago some visible discomfort.
Mastadon is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drago throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Mastadon staying calm. Drago tries to get back to half guard but can't. Drago trying to control but Mastadon flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Mastadon lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Drago hold on?!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mastadon has good solid back control here. Drago tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Mastadon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Drago takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. This has been an exciting period of action! Drago tries to hold on but Mastadon postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mastadon controlling the pace for now. Mastadon avoids the attempt from Drago to control. Mastadon looking to control and managing it successfully. Mastadon scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mastadon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mastadon avoids the attempt from Drago to control. Mastadon content just to control the position here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Drago is trying to escape the mount.

Drago gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Drago is trying to keep Mastadon in close.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Drago avoids the body shot from Mastadon.
Drago tries to close the distance and clinch but Mastadon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Drago has a takedown stuffed. Mastadon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Drago.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mastadon works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Mastadon looks to land a body kick but Drago moved away. Mastadon misses with a body kick. Mastadon slaps away a takedown attempt from Drago, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mastadon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Drago's guard. Mastadon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mastadon stands and throws Drago's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mastadon controlling the position from side mount. Mastadon working away. Drago is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mastadon is controlling him well. Mastadon working away. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mastadon advances to mount. Mastadon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wolf Mastadon. Mastadon throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Wolf Mastadon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mastadon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mastadon sitting in guard here, content to control. Drago keeping moving, preventing Mastadon from controlling successfully. Drago escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mastadon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mastadon controls from within his opponent's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Drago is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mastadon defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wolf Mastadon dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Drago dives in and grabs Mastadon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mastadon pushes down on Drago's head and hops out. Drago closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mastadon's guard. Mastadon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drago prevents Mastadon from getting back to his feet. Mastadon pushes Drago off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Mastadon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mastadon throws a wild body kick that Drago sees coming a mile off. Drago shoots in looking for a takedown but Mastadon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drago's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Drago gets caught napping as Mastadon dives in and scores a takedown. Drago manages to retain guard. Mastadon stays in close to Drago's body and controls the position. Mastadon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Drago for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mastadon is working Drago over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Mastadon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Drago. Mastadon throws a sloppy head kick and Drago moves out of range easily. Mastadon thows a body shot but no joy. Mastadon lands with an overhand left. Oleg Drago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Drago shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mastadon as he avoids it easily. Mastadon digs a good body shot into Drago's ribs. Drago shoots in for a takedown but Mastadon shows good takedown defense. Drago takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mastadon feints and as Drago raises his hands in defense, Mastadon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Mastadon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Drago takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mastadon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Drago throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Mastadon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wolf Mastadon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Horrible takedown by Drago or perhaps it was just good defense by Mastadon which made him look bad. Drago misses with a takedown attempt and Mastadon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Drago thinking. Drago moves out of range of the body kick. Mastadon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Drago's guard. Mastadon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mastadon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Wolf Mastadon showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mastadon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
