Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Duarte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiichi Miyazawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kiichi Miyazawa was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcos Duarte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiichi Miyazawa!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyazawa doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Duarte counters with a stiff right hand.
Duarte getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Miyazawa takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Duarte fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Miyazawa to the ground. Duarte is now in Miyazawa's guard.
Duarte wants to pass the guard but Miyazawa is keeping the position.
Duarte scoring with some ground and pound.

Miyazawa has his foot on Duarte's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duarte works his way back into a safe position though.

Miyazawa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Duarte passes into half guard.

Duarte looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Duarte keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miyazawa trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Duarte manages to pass to mount!
Duarte prevents Miyazawa from getting the reversal.
Miyazawa tries to hold on but Duarte pushes him away.
Duarte lands a heavy elbow.
Miyazawa tries to buck Duarte off but he can't manage it.
The referee warns Miyazawa that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Miyazawa is bucking up trying to escape but Duarte cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Duarte looking to isolate an arm here. Miyazawa doesn't see it coming and as Duarte extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Duarte!
