Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darius Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Kawalew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawalew comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Barney song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Chris Kawalew will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawalew throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith ducks right into an uppercut from Kawalew.
Kawalew lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kawalew throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Chris Kawalew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kawalew lands with a nice combination. Smith backs away looking to recover.

Kawalew really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kawalew is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kawalew does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kawalew tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Kawalew tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Kawalew enables Smith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kawalew manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kawalew wants to sweep but no luck.
Smith wants to control from the top but Kawalew keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kawalew leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kawalew sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

Kawalew lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kawalew is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Smith like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Smith from another fist facial!
