The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kabasla fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Joe, pushing him back against the cage.
Joe throws a knee to the head but misses.

Joe is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kabasla is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Joe to the mat. Joe regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Kabasla throwing strikes but missing.
Kabasla passes into half guard.

Joe actively working from the bottom here.
Joe flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kabasla thows a huge punch but Joe dodges it nicely.
Kabasla has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kabasla wants to control but Joe is keeping him busy.
Kabasla missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Joe tries to roll over but Kabasla keeps him under control.
Kabasla blocks the strikes from Joe.
Joe is looking to improve his position.
Kabasla lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kabasla lands a nice short elbow.
