Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morris has chosen Disturbed-Indestructible as his entrance music. Jason Morgan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Luke Morris!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris shoots for a double leg takedown but Morgan sprawls well. He's pushed Morris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Morgan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Morgan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Morgan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Morris can't do much from the bottom here.

Morgan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Morris tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morris is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Morgan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Morgan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Morris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Morgan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morris is looking for a sweep. Morgan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jason Morgan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Morgan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Morris tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Morgan is in Morris's guard.
Morgan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Morgan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Morris is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Morgan wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Morris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Morgan to the mat! Morgan manages to get full guard.

Morgan pulls Morris in close to prevent any damage.

Morgan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Morris defends well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Morgan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Morris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Morgan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Morris pulls Morgan in close to his closed guard and prevents Morgan from doing any damage or advancing position.
Morris can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Morgan controls the pace.

Morris is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Morris's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Morgan wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Morgan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Morgan wants to work for an arm triangle but Morris is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Morris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Morris is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Morgan wants to take a breather but Morris is having none of it.
Morris tries to roll over but Morgan keeps him under control.

Morgan wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Morris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morgan's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jason Morgan will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Morgan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morgan wants it to stay on the feet.
A big left from Morgan misses.

Morris shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Morgan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Morris is working away from the top position though.
Morris seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Morgan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Morris is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Morgan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Morgan has escaped and now he's on top!

and Morgan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Morris won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morris can't do much from the bottom here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee asks Morgan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Morgan prefers to stall for the moment though.

Jason Morgan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Morgan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
