Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saifullah Gaziev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zachary Brooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Saifullah Gaziev!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks shoots in but no luck this time.
Gaziev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Brooks tries to clinch up

and Gaziev counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Gaziev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Brooks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Brooks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gaziev pulls his head out easily.

Brooks looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brooks wants to control but Gaziev is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gaziev prevents Brooks from improving his position.
Brooks regains full guard. Nicely done.

Brooks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gaziev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gaziev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brooks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gaziev has managed to get both his arms back between Brooks's legs - danger averted.
Brooks is breathing heavily.
Brooks keeping moving, preventing Gaziev from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Brooks has his foot on Gaziev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gaziev works his way back into a safe position though.
Gaziev trying to control the position from guard on top but Brooks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gaziev scoring with punches to the head and body.
Gaziev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Brooks looking for subs off his back but Gaziev has passed one foot through into half guard.
Brooks wants to sweep but Gaziev has passed to side control!

Brooks tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gaziev working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Brooks on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Brooks regains half guard.
Gaziev is keen to just control but Brooks is a slippery customer.
Gaziev is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Brooks manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Brooks throws a wild hook but Gaziev just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Brooks gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the ropes! The referee jumps in - Gaziev raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Saifullah Gaziev!
Saifullah Gaziev decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
