Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hamid Anubis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Jones!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anubis throws a leg kick but Jones moved away.
Anubis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Anubis tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Anubis ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Anubis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.
Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Hamid Anubis has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Anubis.
Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Anubis on the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones lands with an overhand left.
Anubis takes one on the button.

Jones jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jones avoids the head kick by Anubis.

Anubis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Anubis ducks down to avoid it.
Jones misses with a two punch combination.
David Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jones digs a good hook to Anubis's body.
Anubis walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Jones stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hamid Anubis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones's corner calls for a 1-2. Jones obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jones lands the left hand.

and Anubis counters with a nice uppercut.
Anubis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Anubis had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Anubis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jones connects with a good right hand that stumbles Anubis. Anubis circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Jones lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Anubis misses with a body shot
and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Anubis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Anubis.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jones defending against the ground and pound.

Anubis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jones has escaped the position, nice work there.

Anubis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anubis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anubis goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jones rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Anubis's guard! Nice work there by Jones!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Jones dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hamid Anubis's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Anubis misses with a two punch combination.
Anubis misses with a low kick.
A big left from Jones misses.

Anubis scores with a takedown into Jones's guard.
Anubis is pushing down on Jones's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jones is fighting to maintain full guard but Anubis has managed to sneak the leg through.
Anubis trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.

Jones kicks Anubis off and gets back to his feet.

Jones misses with a straight left.
Anubis fails with the takedown
and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Anubis backing up. Anubis nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.
Jones swinging wildly here.
Anubis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones scores with a jab to the body.

Anubis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Anubis drags him back down.

Anubis is trying to get an arm triangle but Jones is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones pushes Anubis away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Anubis gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Anubis goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jones rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Anubis's guard! Nice work there by Jones!
Jones postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anubis throws his legs up looking for a submission but Jones uses it to pass to side control.
Anubis can't do much from the bottom here.

Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Anubis get back to his feet.
Jones connects with the punch.


Hamid Anubis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Jones tests Anubis's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anubis lands a really nice looking cross but Jones seems unphased.
Anubis shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hamid Anubis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A left and a right from Jones both land. Nice combination.
Jones scores with a crisp jab that stopped Anubis in his tracks.


Jeez, Hamid Anubis's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hamid Anubis's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). David Jones!
