Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azhiev with a poor takedown
and Wade counters with a single leg into guard. Azhiev didn't expect that.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Wade trying to control but Azhiev is working from the bottom.
Azhiev is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wade is controlling him.
Azhiev looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Azhiev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Wade trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Wade will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Azhiev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Wade counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Azhiev is on top in guard.

Wade is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Wade seems keen to control Azhiev's posture.
Wade knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Azhiev on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Azhiev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wade manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Azhiev has Wade in his guard.
Wade really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wade throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Azhiev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Azhiev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thomas Wade dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wade fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Azhiev sprawls well initially but Wade persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Azhiev won't allow Wade to pass to mount.
Wade is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Azhiev is just riding it out for now. Wade eventually gives up the hold.

Wade wants to pass the guard but Azhiev is keeping the position.

Wade drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wade jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Azhiev will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Wade avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Thomas Wade overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Azhiev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wade gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wade wants to control from the top but Azhiev keeps moving.
Wade wants to pass the guard but Azhiev is keeping the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wade throws a big elbow that misses.
Wade slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Azhiev is not content to let Wade control the position.

Azhiev is trying to buck Wade off.
Wade looks up at the clock and then as Azhiev takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wade smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Wade is trying to get an arm triangle but Azhiev is defending well.

Wade lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Azhiev is in a horrible position here. Wade smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Azhiev doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wade counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Azhiev!
