The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stalin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Baduk counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Stalin is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Stalin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Baduk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Baduk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stalin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vlad Stalin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Baduk rushes Stalin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Baduk tries to pull guard but Stalin holds him up against the cage and eventually Baduk drops back down to his feet.
Baduk is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Stalin to keep the fight standing.

Baduk fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergei Baduk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Baduk is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stalin defends well.

Baduk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Baduk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stalin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stalin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stalin is looking to stand up but Baduk won't let him.

Stalin has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Baduk to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Stalin is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Baduk pulls down on the head and he's put Stalin to sleep! This one is all over!
