PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomato Can Vi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max lands with a kick to the ribs.
Can Vi has his takedown stuffed
and Can Vi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Max connects with a looping right hand.
Max looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Can Vi tries to clinch up
and Max counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Can Vi could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Can Vi shoots and misses
and Max counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Max shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Max moves nicely into side control.
Can Vi is trying to escape the position but Max is controlling the position.

Max decides to stand back up. Max steps back and let's Can Vi get back to his feet.
Can Vi fails with the takedown
enabling Max to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomato Can Vi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Max getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Max stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Can Vi gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Can Vi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Max scores with a sloppy right hand. Can Vi should have avoided that one.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Can Vi. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Max lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Can Vi backs up against the cage.
Scott Max seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Can Vi throws a sloppy head kick
and Max counters with a straight right hand.

Can Vi is rocked!

Can Vi tries to move into range but Max moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Oh Can Vi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Max paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Max closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Can Vi! Max dives in looking to finish! Can Vi is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
