Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barney Sumner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, King Ling!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumner blocks a jab.
Barney Sumner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sumner rushes Ling and presses him up against the cage.
Ling creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Ling working hard to break the clinch.
Sumner blocks the elbow strike.
Sumner gets through Ling's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Ling breaks from the clinch.
Sumner looks to land a right hand but Ling moved out of range.
Sumner keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ling.
Ling takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ling looks to land a right hand but Sumner moved out of range.
A swing and a miss from Ling.
Ling lands with a cross.

The fighters circling - Sumner throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sumner misses with a body shot
and Ling counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ling lands a big uppercut and Sumner crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Sumner looks OK. Ling waves Sumner back to his feet!


Sumner is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ling throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sumner sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Oh Sumner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ling slips under a jab from Sumner.
Sumner bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ling's head.
A jab from Sumner misses.
Sumner seems to have got his legs back now.
Ling looks to land a left hand but Sumner moved out of range nicely.
Sumner throws a hook to the side of Ling's head but Ling sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sumner darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ling keeps the fight on the outside.
Ling rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sumner counters with a straight right hand.
Sumner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ling paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jab, jab by Sumner - just one landing.
Sumner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ling was well out of range. Poor timing from Sumner.
A telegraphed right hand from Ling misses the target.
Ling misses with a looping left.
Sumner slips a jab from Ling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sumner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sumner.
Sumner is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Ling tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sumner smiles and moves away.
Sumner throws a right hand that Ling ducks under and follows up with a left that Ling also avoids with ease.
Ling defending well as Sumner loads up on a big left hand.
Sumner misses with an uppercut.
Ling misses the jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sumner fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ling throws a lazy right hand but Sumner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sumner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A punch combination from Sumner misses.
Sumner wants to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The crowd cheers as Ling lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sumner doesn't seem phased though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Ling dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ling walks into a straight right hand from Sumner.
Sumner lands a jab to the nose.
Ling thuds his right hand into Sumner's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Sumner drives through and clinches with Ling against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Sumner as the two fighters clinch.
A right hand to the body from Sumner.
Sumner tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ling's elbow.
Sumner displaying some good clinch control by pressing Ling up against the cage.
Ling tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sumner goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ling blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A short right from Sumner on the inside.
Ling blocks an uppercut.
Ling wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ling blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Sumner slowing the pace effectively.

Ling gets control of Sumner's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ling will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ling keeping moving, preventing Sumner from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sumner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ling is keeping the position for now.
Ling doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Ling wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sumner manages to pass to side control.

Ling has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sumner is working away from the top position though.
Ling is trying to stand up here but Sumner is controlling him well.
Sumner is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Sumner with the ground and pound but Ling uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Ling keeping moving, preventing Sumner from controlling successfully.

Sumner gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ling looks to land a right hand but Sumner moved out of range.
Sumner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sumner connects with a body shot that sends Ling's belly button to the back.
Sumner misses with a shot to the body
and Ling connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ling throws a jab when Sumner was well out of range.

Sumner closes the distance and pushes Ling back into the cage.
Sumner displaying some good clinch control by pressing Ling up against the cage.
Sumner struggles to land a body shot inside as Ling controls his hands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sumner on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sumner lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.


Ling is rocked!
Sumner lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Ling to his knees! Sumner keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barney Sumner!
