PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Levi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan De Vasconcellos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan De Vasconcellos!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vasconcellos is looking to clinch.
Levi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Levi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
De Vasconcellos keeps the fight on the outside.
Levi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Vasconcellos's waist but De Vasconcellos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Levi off to one side.
Levi falls off balance throwing a combination
and De Vasconcellos counters with a leg kick.
De Vasconcellos throws a sloppy head kick and Levi moves out of range easily.

De Vasconcellos clinches up against the cage.
Levi prevents the takedown attempt.
De Vasconcellos jumps guard but Levi turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Levi jumps guard but De Vasconcellos stands there with Levi around his waist. Levi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Levi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Vasconcellos tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Levi smiles and moves away.

Levi moves into the clinch.

Levi decides to pull guard.
De Vasconcellos trying to control the position from guard on top but Levi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Levi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De Vasconcellos on the ground.

Levi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De Vasconcellos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Levi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst De Vasconcellos is controlling him.
Levi is breathing heavily.
De Vasconcellos wants to stand but Levi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

De Vasconcellos chips away with some ground and pound.
Levi looking for a sweep. Not yet Levi, not yet.
De Vasconcellos is looking to stand up but Levi won't let him.
Levi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Levi has a closed guard, preventing De Vasconcellos from standing up.
Levi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
De Vasconcellos has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Levi is proving hard to escape from.
De Vasconcellos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Levi is keeping the position for now.

De Vasconcellos looking to sit in guard and control but Levi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Vasconcellos is looking to stand up but Levi isn't so interested in that idea.
De Vasconcellos keeping moving, preventing Levi from controlling successfully.
Levi is looking to work some ground and pound but De Vasconcellos has wrist control.

De Vasconcellos has his feet on Levi's thighs here. He's pushed Levi off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Levi screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
