And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kobe New!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moneysmith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
New parries the strikes from Moneysmith easily there. Moneysmith is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable New to escape.
Moneysmith tries to advance to mount but New denies him.
Moneysmith trying to control the action but New is working from the bottom.
Moneysmith looking to control but instead New has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Moneysmith is stalling here. New is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Moneysmith seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and New has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Moneysmith isn't going anywhere.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
New working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

New is trying to get an arm triangle but Moneysmith is defending well.

New tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no New has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
New throwing shots but missing, from side control.
New trying to control the position but Moneysmith is working away.
New advances nicely into full mount.
New trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moneysmith wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Moneysmith is looking to improve his position but New isn't that keen on the idea.

New looking to secure an arm triangle but Moneysmith defends it well.
New prevents Moneysmith from getting the reversal.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
New can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Moneysmith is looking to escape.

Moneysmith wants to control but New is having none of it.
New trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Moneysmith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Moneysmith tries to get out of the position.
Moneysmith holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as New tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
New tries to control but Moneysmith wriggling away.
Moneysmith wants to control but New is having none of it.

Moneysmith is trying to stand up.
New trying to control but Moneysmith is having none of it.

New lands a heavy elbow.

Moneysmith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kobe New dominated that round.
That's time! Moneysmith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Moneysmith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Moneysmith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? New is fending him off so far but Moneysmith persists. Nope, New circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from New.
New tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Moneysmith misses with a jab, cross combination.

Moneysmith clinches up with New and pushes him back against the cage.

New manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
New working a defensive guard but Moneysmith passes into half guard.
New moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Moneysmith trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Moneysmith stands up over New, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Moneysmith trying to control the position from guard on top but New is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Moneysmith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
New tries to strike from the bottom.
New controls Moneysmith momentarily but Moneysmith frees himself.
New doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Moneysmith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

New looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

New has his feet on Moneysmith's thighs here. He's pushed Moneysmith off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Moneysmith screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
