The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopes shoots for a double leg takedown but Stick sprawls well. He's pushed Lopes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lopes gets tackled into the cage by Stick. Stick maintains the clinch.

Stick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stick fails to land the takedown.

Stick shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stick was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stick is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lopes can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lopes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stick on the ground.

Stick avoids the attempt from Lopes to control.
Lopes is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stick is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lopes is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Stick cracks Lopes with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lopes tries to buck Stick off but Stick takes his back!
Lopes just trying to survive but Stick is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Stick has good solid back control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
