The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier blocks a head kick by Masters.

Masters throws a sloppy head kick and Cormier moves out of range easily.

Masters fails to land with a series of punches.

Cormier fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Masters manages to avoid it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Masters.

Cormier has managed to clinch.

Masters throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Masters avoids a punch combination nicely.
Masters throws a head kick but Cormier moves out of range.
Masters misses with a two punch combination.

Masters gets caught napping as Cormier dives in and scores a takedown. Masters manages to retain guard.

Cormier lands a couple of digs.
Cormier throws an elbow that misses. Masters uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cormier's guard. Nice move by Masters!
Cormier bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Masters's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cormier accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
