PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aldair Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Togashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Togashi takes a head kick and keeps coming.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dos Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Togashi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Togashi will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Togashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dos Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dos Santos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Togashi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dos Santos has managed to get both his arms back between Togashi's legs - danger averted.

Dos Santos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Togashi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dos Santos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Togashi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dos Santos somewhat.
