Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcos Boing!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to clinch there but Boing circles away.

Boing clinches up against the cage.
Boing wants a takedown.
Boing tries to pull guard but James won't allow it.
James is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

James pulls guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
James trying to keep a closed guard but Boing is proving a slippery customer.
James wants to sweep here but Boing controlling him for the moment.

James looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Boing is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

James keeping moving, preventing Boing from controlling successfully.
Boing chips away with some ground and pound.
Boing tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.
Boing trying to control but James is working from the bottom.

Boing stands and steps away. James gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

James closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Boing tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Boing really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

James throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
James wants to take a breather but Boing is having none of it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Boing is concentrating on defense, preventing James from advancing position.
Boing is refusing to be controlled, as James sits in half guard.

James prevents Boing from improving his position.
James thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Boing on his heels. He'll look to pass Boing's guard now, I'm sure.

James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boing has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Boing's legs - danger averted.
James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Boing shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Boing was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dan James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
James gets back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boing is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Boing in particular looking to stall.
James has hold of Boing's hands but Boing slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Boing is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and James defends it well.

James is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Boing's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Boing's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James is hanging on to Boing's back as he tries to escape.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Boing displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as James throws out the jab.
James wants to clinch.

James misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

James throws some wild stikes that Boing manages to avoid easily.
James can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Boing is looking to escape.

Boing is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Boing is in a horrible position here. James smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Boing is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Boing is in all sorts of trouble here.
James avoids the attempt from Boing to control.

James has hold of Boing's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Boing manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Boing sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Marcos Boing has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dan James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. James connects with a nice short shot to Boing's temple.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dan James showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for James, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
