Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stone looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Rossi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rossi wants to take a breather but Stone is having none of it.

Rossi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rossi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stone sprawls well. Stone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rossi gets slowly back to his feet.

Rossi throws a nice looking combination but Stone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rossi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stone on his heels. He'll look to pass Stone's guard now, I'm sure.

Rossi is fighting to break Stone's control of his arms but Stone is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rossi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stone to the ground. Rossi is now in Stone's guard.
Stone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rossi wants to get up but he can't break Stone's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stone is looking to stand up but Rossi isn't so interested in that idea.

Rossi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stone's waist but Stone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rossi off to one side.

No luck for Stone with that takedown attempt.
Stone really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rossi drives through and clinches with Stone against the cage.

Rossi jumps guard and drags Stone to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Rossi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stone scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Stone shoots for a double leg takedown but Rossi sprawls well. He's pushed Stone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rossi smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Rossi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stone as he avoids it easily.
James Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale Rossi.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rossi tries to roll over but Stone keeps him under control.

Stone is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rossi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stone.

Stone wants to pass to mount but Rossi is defending the position.

Stone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rossi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stone.

Stone is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rossi is surviving well by controlling Stone's body position as best he can.

Stone jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle�. Ooooh, that looks tight� Rossi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rossi and Stone has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Rossi is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Stone has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Stone grinds an elbow into Rossi's temple.
James Stone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dale Rossi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Stone lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

James Stone showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rossi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
