PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dominickoy Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuuska Muikkunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz comes into the arena with bleed it out blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cruz gets caught flat footed, as Muikkunen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Muikkunen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Muikkunen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cruz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Muikkunen has managed to get both his arms back between Cruz's legs - danger averted.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cruz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Muikkunen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Muikkunen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Muikkunen winds up and cracks Cruz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Muikkunen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cruz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Muikkunen connects with a nice short shot to Cruz's temple.

Muikkunen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Muikkunen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Muikkunen scores with a big shot! Cruz's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Cruz! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
