Ryan Nelson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Miguel Moniz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Nelson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Moniz has had enough of the clinch but Nelson keeps him there for the moment.
Nelson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Moniz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Nelson connects with a knee to the head.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moniz is trying to maintain a safe position but Nelson gets an underhook and turns Moniz into the ropes.

Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nelson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Nelson looks gassed!
Moniz cracks the inside of Nelson's front leg.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nelson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Moniz lands a slapping body shot.
Moniz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nelson.

Moniz lands a head kick that bluckles Nelson and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Moniz no doubt looking to push for a finish!


It looks like Ryan Nelson has been cut.
Moniz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Moniz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Moniz throws a sloppy head kick and Nelson moves out of range easily.
Moniz catches Nelson napping and cracks him with a perfect head kick! Nelson goes down! He's bigtime hurt! He's not going to make it back to his feet - the referee has called it off! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Miguel Moniz!
