Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinicius Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferrari has chosen Holy Diver by Dio as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vinicius Ferrari!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Ferrari as Jackson shoots in.
Ferrari feints a jab promting Jackson to slip. Ferrari then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jackson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Andrew Jackson has been cut.
No joy there for Ferrari, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jackson shoots in and bounces Ferrari off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jackson prevents Ferrari from getting back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrew Jackson will probably get the nod.

Ferrari throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jackson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ferrari.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ferrari enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ferrari manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ferrari is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Some bone on bone action there as Jackson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Ferrari throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ferrari is defended easily by Jackson.
Ferrari tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferrari swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jackson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Vinicius Ferrari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ferrari takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sloppy strikes from Ferrari. Those never looked like landing.

Ferrari stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ferrari wants it to stay on the feet.
Ferrari changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Ferrari manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Andrew Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinicius Ferrari.

Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ferrari sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.

Still in half guard, Jackson seems content to control.
Jackson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
