Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lal Dama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kory Hodgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lal Dama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kory Hodgins!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodgins throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hodgins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dama shoots in for a takedown but Hodgins shows good takedown defense.
Hodgins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dama dodges the punch combination from Hodgins.
Dama misses with a body kick.

Dama is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hodgins's half guard.
Dama content to control rather than advance.
Dama could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dama stops Hodgins from getting back to his feet.

Well, if Dama is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lal Dama has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Hodgins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dama forces Hodgins back against the cage and clinches.
Hodgins has had enough of the clinch but Dama keeps him there for the moment.
Dama drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hodgins pulls his leg out and moves away.
A bone on bone clash there as Dama blocks the leg kick.
Dama is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hodgins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hodgins tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hodgins connects with a leg kick. Dama looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hodgins looks gassed!

Dama gets a takedown into half guard.

Hodgins tries to kick Dama off but Dama keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Dama keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dama connects with a nice short shot to Hodgins's temple.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dama is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dama is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hodgins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dama.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dama seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hodgins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dama. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dama is looking for a kimura but Hodgins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dama to get the leverage.
Dama with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Dama decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Hodgins misses with a wild combination.
Dama takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hodgins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dama circles away quickly and effectively.

Dama closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hodgins circles away.
Hodgins misses with a two punch combination.

Dama shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Dama seems content to control.
Dama wants to control but Hodgins is keeping him busy.

Dama stands up and beckons Hodgins to join him on the feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dama has managed to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hodgins is trying to break the clinch but Dama has him pressed against the cage.
Dama fails to pull guard.
Hodgins wants to get back to striking at distance but Dama won't allow it.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lal Dama dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A head kick misses from Hodgins.
Dama tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hodgins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dama somewhat.
Dama will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hodgins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lal Dama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hodgins tries to clinch but Dama moves out of range.
Hodgins stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kory Hodgins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dama drives through with a takedown into Hodgins's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hodgins keeping moving, preventing Dama from controlling successfully.
Lal Dama overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hodgins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dama is controlling him.
Dama trying to control the position from guard on top but Hodgins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dama sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hodgins's guard.
Hodgins is refusing to be controlled, as Dama sits in half guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Dama decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hodgins misses with a low kick as Dama jumps back.
Lal Dama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dama has managed to clinch.

Hodgins breaks the clinch.

Dama shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hodgins napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hodgins is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dama connects with a decent elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dama tries for a kimura but Hodgins is defending well.
Hodgins tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Hodgins is breathing heavily.
Dama wants to control the pace but Hodgins is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You get the feeling that Hodgins really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dama looking to finish Hodgins with some ground and pound. This is bad for Hodgins!
Dama breaks from Hodgins's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hodgins is squirming around, avoiding Dama's attempts to control the action.
Dama drops a big elbow. That's hurt Hodgins! More shots from Dama and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lal Dama!
