The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalenko slips under a jab.
Boy shoots in but Kovalenko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kovalenko bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Boy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kovalenko defends it nicely.
Kovalenko cracks Boy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Boy throws a half hearted mid kick.
Boy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kovalenko sprawls well. Kovalenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boy gets slowly back to his feet.
Nikolai Kovalenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Golden Boy.
Kovalenko connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boy. Boy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Kovalenko scores with a one two! Boy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Kovalenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Boy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kovalenko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Boy somewhat.

Kovalenko lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Kovalenko is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Kovalenko takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kovalenko connects with a body shot that sends Boy's belly button to the back.

Oooooh!!! Kovalenko has knocked Boy down with a huge combo! Kovalenko steps away and waves a wobbly Boy back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Golden Boy has been cut.
Kovalenko throws a nice outside leg kick.

Kovalenko cracks Boy with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Boy looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Kovalenko finish him?

Boy is rocked!
Kovalenko throws a pinpoint strike between Boy's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Boy crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Kovalenko scores a great knockout victory!
