PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Prince Valor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erick Villar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Prince Valor!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Erick Villar!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Valor.
Villar dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Valor slips a jab from Villar.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Valor enables Villar to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Valor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Villar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Villar lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Villar throws an elbow that misses. Valor uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Villar's guard. Nice move by Valor!
Valor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Villar on the ground.
Valor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Villar is keeping the position for now.
Villar wants to stand and escape but Valor is having none of it.

Valor tries to free his leg and advance position but Villar is retaining full guard.
Villar keeping moving, preventing Valor from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Prince Valor wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Valor tries to sprawl but Villar drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Villar scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Valor wants to get back to full guard.

Valor is defending against the submission attempts here by Villar.

Villar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Villar thows a huge punch but Valor dodges it nicely.

Villar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Prince Valor wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Valor lands with a slapping head kick.
Villar sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Villar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Villar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Valor.
Villar swings for the body but Valor moves out of range.
Valor scores with a jab to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Valor lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Villar at a distance.
Erick Villar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Villar cracks a nice hook into Valor's ribs.

Villar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Valor to the ground. Villar is now in Valor's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Valor avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Villar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Valor preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erick Villar dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Villar misses with a few strikes there.
Villar takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Villar shoots in for a double leg but Valor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Valor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Valor darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Villar throws a series of punches but Valor avoids them all with ease.
Erick Villar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Villar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A punch lands to the side of Villar 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Villar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Villar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Prince Valor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erick Villar.

Valor moves into the clinch successfully.
Villar wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Valor has him pressed against the cage.
Villar takes a shot to the head.
Valor lands a hook that snaps the head of Villar backwards.
Valor softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Valor is leaning against Villar and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A nice left hand lands by Valor.


Villar is rocked!
Valor lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Villar is still on wobbly legs! Can Valor finish him?
Valor lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Villar to his knees! Valor keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Prince Valor!
Prince Valor retains his middleweight title!
A very excited looking Prince Valor rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
