Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lex Luger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lex Luger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky Wells!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wells fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Luger, pushing him back against the cage.
Wells is pressed up against the cage. Luger has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wells down to the mat. Wells avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Luger takes a swing at Wells's ribcage but misses.
Wells shoots in but Luger avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wells fails with the takedown.
Wells wants to clinch up but Luger keeps it at a distance.
Wells keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Luger.
Luger misses the shot to the body.
Luger really is a fat lump.
Wells misses with a takedown attempt
and Wells takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Lex Luger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Wells.
Luger takes a swing at Wells's ribcage but misses.
Wells with a lazy takedown attempt
and Luger counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wells tries for a takedown but Luger circles away easily
and Luger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wells takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Wells takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Luger dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Luger lunges at Wells with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wells's hand.
Wells takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Wells ducks straight into an uppercut from Luger and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Wells manages to regain guard straight away.


Wells is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Luger wants to get up but he can't break Wells's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Wells is still in real trouble! Can Luger finish him?
Wells seems to have recovered his senses.
Luger trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wells can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wells tries for a takedown but Luger circles away easily
enabling Luger to counter with a crisp jab.
Luger scores with a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Luger. Wells does a little dance to reset his feet.
Luger comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Luger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wells moves away.
Luger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wells avoids a punch combination nicely.

Luger lands a nice hook to Wells's body. Wells takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Luger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wells was well out of range. Poor timing from Luger.
Luger misses with a double jab.
Ricky Wells seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wells takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Luger's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Luger duly obliges.
Wells on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Luger throws a series of punches but Wells avoids them all with ease.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Luger cracks a nice hook into Wells's ribs.

Wells showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Luger.
Luger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wells moves away.

Luger misses with the combination.
Luger misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lex Luger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Luger, as that shot connected.
Wells misses with a takedown attempt
and Luger counters with a two punch combo.
Wells takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Wells doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Luger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Luger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Luger looks to score with a jab to the body but Wells is just out of range.
Luger works Wells's body with a nice hook.
Luger is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Wells has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Luger finds it's way round the side to connect with Wells's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Luger dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wells throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Luger was covering up waiting for the punch and Wells finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wells drops back looking for a leg! Luger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Luger manages to kick Wells off! Wells jumps back into Luger's guard.
Luger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wells can do to turn this around?
Luger is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wells is controlling him.
Wells is breathing heavily.

Luger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wells tries to free his leg and advance position but Luger is retaining full guard.
Luger is looking to stand up but Wells isn't so interested in that idea.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Wells rushes Luger and presses him up against the cage.
Luger is working for takedown but Wells is calmly controlling the position for now.

Luger is trying to drag Wells to the mat but Wells just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Wells is struggling to control the position.

Wells pulls guard effortlessly.
Luger wants to stand but Wells is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Luger decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Luger scores with a body shot.
Luger throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Luger misses with a wild body shot.
A jab from Luger finds it's way through Wells's defenses.
A punch lands to the side of Wells 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Luger closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Ricky Wells is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Luger misses with a straight right.
Wells takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Luger dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Luger is looking to wear down Wells with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Luger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wells doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Luger counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Luger counters with a nice body shot.
Luger lands with a nice body punch.
Wells takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Luger fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Luger fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Wells takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Luger scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wells doesn't seem bothered though.

and Luger counters with a left and a right that hurts Wells! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Luger jumps into full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lex Luger showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Luger, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
