Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim Roberts is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawk instigates a clinch.
Roberts is trying to push Hawk away but Hawk has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Hawk has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Roberts regains guard immediately.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hawk chips away with some ground and pound.

It looks like Tim Roberts has been cut.
Hawk slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hawk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Roberts is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hawk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hawk could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hawk wants to control from the top but Roberts keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Jake Hawk wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Roberts does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Hawk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roberts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hawk lands a nice forearm strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawk landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roberts defending against the ground and pound.
Hawk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The strikes coming from Hawk are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Hawk in side control lands a decent elbow.

Hawk thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Roberts takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

That has opened up Tim Roberts's cut even more.

Hawk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hawk scoring with punches and elbows.
Hawk lands a nice forearm strike.

The cut above Tim Roberts's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Roberts managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hawk.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawk cracks Roberts with a big elbow.
Roberts pushes Hawk away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hawk gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Roberts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hawk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roberts is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hawk connects with a decent elbow.

Tim Roberts's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tim Roberts's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
