Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregg Baby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gregg Baby!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baby lands a nice shot to the body.
Armstrong takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


It looks like Victor Armstrong has been cut.
Baby jabs at Armstrong's body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Armstrong misses with a straight left.
Armstrong moves in looking to clinch but Baby pushes him off.
Armstrong swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Baby connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Baby listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Sloppy strikes from Armstrong. Those never looked like landing.
Armstrong is breathing heavily.
Armstrong tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baby paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Baby scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Armstrong doesn't seem bothered though.
No luck for Baby with that takedown attempt.
Baby will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Armstrong misses with an uppercut.
Armstrong leaves Baby with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Victor Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregg Baby.

Baby lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Armstrong tries to clinch up but Baby circles away and keeps his distance.
A jab lands there for Baby.

Baby clinches up against the cage.
Baby is stalling here.
Baby working hard to break the clinch.

Armstrong is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Baby is defending well for now.
Armstrong throws a knee to the head but misses.

Armstrong using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Baby has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Baby is trying to push Armstrong away but Armstrong has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Armstrong looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Armstrong throws a head punch that misses.

Baby is trying to break free.

Baby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baby misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fight stays on the outside here - Armstrong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Armstrong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Baby moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Baby throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A clash of legs there as Armstrong blocks the low kick.
Baby is trying hard to land a takedown here. Armstrong sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Victor Armstrong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Armstrong tries to move into range but Baby moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Baby lands a glancing blow to the side of Armstrong's head.
Armstrong takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Baby lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Armstrong backs up against the cage.


Victor Armstrong's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baby throws a front kick aimed at Armstrong's knee but Armstrong avoids it well.
Baby circles away from the clinch attempt.
Armstrong tries to clinch there but Baby circles away.
Baby ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Baby fails to land the takedown.

Baby rushes Armstrong and presses him up against the cage.
Baby wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Armstrong tries a knee to the head but Baby blocks it.
Armstrong tries to land a knee to the head but Baby blocks with his arms.

Baby jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Baby trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Baby scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Armstrong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Armstrong stuffs the takedown.
Baby bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Baby bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


Jeez, Victor Armstrong's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Baby fails to land the takedown.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Armstrong slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Baby is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Armstrong had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Baby shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Armstrong defends it nicely.
Baby pivots, looking for a leg kick but Armstrong is out of range and Baby settles back down.
Baby misses with a jab, cross combination.
Armstrong wants to clinch up but Baby keeps it at a distance.
Armstrong tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baby paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Baby dives in and grabs Armstrong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Armstrong pushes down on Baby's head and hops out.
Baby keeps the fight on the outside.
Armstrong tries to clinch but Baby is having none of it.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Baby scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Victor Armstrong's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Gregg Baby!
