The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Great One closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Morris is trying to defend against the ground and pound but The Great One scores with a couple of nice shots.

The Great One is working for a submission of some sort.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A clash of legs there as The Great One blocks the low kick.

The Great One drives through and clinches with Morris against the cage.
Morris is pressed up against the cage. The Great One has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Morris down to the mat. Morris avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Morris lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Morris.
The Great One will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Morris.
