Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Lillins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Reznor! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot by Reznor.
It looks like Dave Lillins has been cut. Lillins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Lillins tries to free his leg and advance position but Reznor is retaining full guard. Lillins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reznor works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Reznor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lillins wants to stand and escape but instead Reznor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Reznor won't allow Lillins to get back to his feet. Lillins working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Reznor. Reznor preventing the sweep. Lillins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Reznor working some strikes from top position. Reznor lands a couple of decent looking shots. Reznor throws a big right hand that misses. Lillins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lillins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lillins wants to sweep here but Reznor controlling him for the moment. Lillins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lillins is adopting a defensive guard. Reznor wants to control from the top but Lillins keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lillins is defended easily by Reznor. Reznor drops Lillins with a beautiful combination! Lillins stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Reznor is looking for the KO! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lillins on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Lillins is breathing heavily. Reznor pounces like a tiger and cracks Lillins with a vicious hook! Lillins is down but not out! Reznor follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
