Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between River Walken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans De Vries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walken comes to the ring accompanied by Flim Star by Suede. The crowd seem to be enjoying De Vries's choice of entrance music: Morning Dew. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, River Walken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hans De Vries!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vries scores with a jab to the head.
De Vries throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from De Vries, right into the meat.
De Vries thows a left - swing and a miss!
De Vries fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Walken has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
De Vries leaves Walken with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
De Vries slaps away a takedown attempt from Walken, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Walken doesn't manage to clinch there - De Vries circles away.
Walken will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for River Walken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Vries fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Walken has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
De Vries connects with a good right hand that stumbles Walken. Walken circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nice takedown defense from De Vries. No joy for Walken on that attempt.

Walken goes for an armbar but De Vries turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from De Vries.
Walken really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walken had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. De Vries defends it easily.
De Vries postures up in Walken's guard and throws a big left but Walken blocks it.
De Vries wants to get up but he can't break Walken's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Walken has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De Vries can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Walken looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Walken is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Vries postures up and lands a big shot to Walken's brow.

Walken looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! De Vries has picked Walken up and slammed him! Walken can't keep hold of the triangle and De Vries manages to pass to side control!

Walken is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but De Vries pulls his head out easily.

De Vries lands with a punch from half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. De Vries connects with a nice short shot to Walken's temple.
De Vries wants to stand up but Walken has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Walken tries to get to full guard but De Vries has control of the leg.
De Vries is pressing down on Walken's thigh, looking to free his foot. Walken is holding on for now.
De Vries looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Walken works his way to full guard. Good work.

Walken is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and De Vries defends well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

De Vries stands up from Walken's guard - De Vries perhaps looking for a knockout.
Walken will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hans De Vries is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
De Vries pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Walken shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. De Vries defends it nicely.

De Vries closes the distance and clinches.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
De Vries connects with a knee to the head.
De Vries pushes off an throws an elbow but Walken leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.
Walken goes for a takedown attempt but De Vries pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Walken shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and De Vries counters with a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hans De Vries will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

De Vries moves into range and connects with a jab.
Walken takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
De Vries feints a jab promting Walken to slip. De Vries then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Walken slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Walken shoots in for a takedown but De Vries shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for River Walken. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Walken tries for a takedown but De Vries manages to get underhooks.
De Vries lands on the inside with an uppercut.


Walken is rocked!
De Vries lands an elbow that stopped Walken in his tracks for a moment.
Oh Walken is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
De Vries gets through Walken's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Walken takes an elbow to the forehead.
De Vries creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Walken's defenses.

It looks like River Walken has been cut.
De Vries lands a big knee to the head and Walken goes down! De Vries pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hans De Vries!
After winning the bout, Hans De Vries thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
