The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bezerra shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Santos defends it nicely.
Santos connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nice takedown defense from Santos. No joy for Bezerra on that attempt.
Santos has Bezerra up against the cage in a clinch.
Santos goes for a takedown attempt but Bezerra pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Santos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bezerra circles away quickly and effectively.
Santos clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Santos manages to break the clinch.
Santos misses with a two punch combination.
Santos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bezerra avoids it really well and circles away.
Bezerra gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Santos counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Bezerra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bezerra closes the distance looking to clinch
and Santos counters with a solid body kick.
Bezerra tries to close the distance and clinch but Santos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Santos tries for a takedown but Bezerra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bezerra throws a leg kick
and Santos counters with a takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bezerra manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santos is staying active underneath Bezerra, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bezerra is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Santos is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
