The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Thorp quickly recovers to half guard.
Lee passes the guard and advances to mount!
Lee with the ground and pound from mount.
Thorp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.

Lee working for a submission but Thorp is keeping him at bay.
Lee takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lee postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Thorp looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee looking to ground and pound but Thorp is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Lee looking to isolate an arm here. Thorp doesn't see it coming and as Lee extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Lee!
