Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dennis Quade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ralf Jem!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quade shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Quade was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jem is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Quade controlling his opponent.
Jem is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Jem tries to lock up and control but Quade gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Jem tries to lock up and control but Quade gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jem shoots in for a takedown but Quade shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Quade throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jem was covering up waiting for the punch and Quade finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jem is wriggling around but Quade manages to pass to half guard.
Quade is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Quade takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Quade shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jem pinned against the cage. Jem gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jem tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Quade manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Quade misses with a takedown attempt - Jem sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Quade avoids the attempt from Jem to control.
Jem is looking to improve his position but Quade isn't that keen on the idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ralf Jem hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Quade drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jem is trying to keep Quade in close.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Jem isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Quade stacks Jem on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Quade!
Jem takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Quade seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jem for as long as he can get away with.
Jem tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Quade wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Dennis Quade has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Quade closes the distance and clinches up with Jem, looking for a takedown. Quade pushes Jem against the cage but Jem circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Quade. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jem lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Quade circles away quickly and effectively.
Jem fails to land the takedown.

Dennis Quade showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Quade has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
