Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randy War (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza has chosen Mv Bill - Marginal Menestrel as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Souza takes the fight into the clinch.
War manages to break the clinch.
Souza looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
War is working an open guard so Souza takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Souza gets the takedown into side control.
Souza decides to stand up, so the ref orders War to his feet.
Souza circles away from the clinch attempt
and Souza counters with a single leg into guard. War didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Souza is pushing down on War's leg trying to pass to half guard. War is fighting to maintain full guard but Souza has managed to sneak the leg through.

Souza seems to be working for a kimura but War defends the submission attempt.
Souza wants to advance to full mount but War doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

War is trying to control the position but Souza postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
War is looking to stand up but Souza isn't so interested in that idea.

War knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Souza on the ground.

War throws a left and a right that both miss
and Souza counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for War!
Souza working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. War turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Souza off and cradles War's limp body as Souza celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ronaldo Souza!
