The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monano misses with a takedown attempt

and Rutger counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Monano!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Monano tries to lock up and control but Rutger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Monano is bucking up trying to escape but Rutger cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

It looks like Karol Monano has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Karol Monano's cut is getting worse.
Rutger softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Monano is out cold! Rutger jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gerlach Rutger!
A less than humble Gerlach Rutger misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
