Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nacho Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Mitch Bade by Tech Nine. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nacho Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terry Silva!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Diaz shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice straight punches there by Silva. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Silva.
Silva scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Diaz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silva.
Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Diaz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nacho Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Silva smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Diaz closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva lands a slapping body shot.
Silva throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nacho Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diaz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silva throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely.

Silva throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Diaz drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Diaz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Silva pulls his leg out and moves away.
Silva connects with the punch.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diaz manages to avoid it.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Diaz needs to keep his hands up - Silva had a free shot at his head there.

Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Diaz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Silva regains guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Diaz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva is trying to keep Diaz in close.
Diaz stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terry Silva dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Silva connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Diaz momentarily.
The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Diaz doesn't seem phased though.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diaz to the ground. Diaz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Diaz.
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Diaz's shoulder, as Diaz tries to avoid the shot.

Diaz has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Diaz wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely.

Diaz throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Silva has his hands clasped together but Diaz breaks the hold and Silva is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Diaz!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nacho Diaz!
