The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Land gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Unit counters with a nice double leg into side control. Land won't be happy with that.
Unit is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Land has his foot on Unit's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Unit works his way back into a safe position though.

Land is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Unit defends well.

and Unit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Land's guard.

Land has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Unit is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Land.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
